Our workplace design consultants bring your values to life
Every business has its values — they’re your North Star — and there are countless ways you can choose to realise yours. Your workplace should be the physical representation of your values. Family-first fun, boundless creativity, hard work and detailed precision, the relentless pursuit of perfection: whatever your values are, your office needs to reflect them.
And this isn’t merely aesthetic nitpicking. Good design demands good data, and as your workplace design consultants, we’ll gather every speck of insight to make meaningful, practical design decisions.
- Extensive staff interviews give us the qualitative insights we need to understand the spectrum of workstyles, workplace culture and work/life balance, including individual and group work as well as in-office, hybrid and work-from-home needs.
- Discovery workshops, storage audits and test fits help determine how best to optimise or renovate your space to improve productivity, comfort and safety.
- Detailed industry research allows us to consider how the needs of businesses in your line are evolving, and what changes we can make to your workplace today to ready it for tomorrow’s needs.
Our workplace design services, step by step
Data, data, data. In our work, creativity needs constraints to be useful, which is why we make such an effort to gather as much data as possible from as many sources as possible.
Initial consultation
We’ll host a roundtable for the principals: business owners, architects, builders, and anyone else currently working on the project. The aim of the consultation is to establish your goals and the role we can play to help you meet them.
Discovery workshop and assessment
Once we’re onboard, we’ll set up a workshop with your senior staff and department heads to define key design and business goals, aspirations, and practical necessities. We’ll also assess your existing space so we can account for its physical limits and potential. The standards set here will form the basis of our designs.
Interviews, surveys and further research
Now, we can get into the weeds. We’ll host employee engagement interviews and send out optional surveys to understand the employee experience. We want to know how your office space is actually used, what its pain points are and what it lacks. The human insights we discover here will be an invaluable resource, and will help you understand how your business actually functions — and, more importantly, how it should.
Design and refine
Our designers transform the insights we’ve gathered into a comprehensive workplace design strategy. Alongside our recommendations, we’ll also present you with 3D designs, allowing you to see exactly what we propose to do with your space. We'll workshop your designs with test fits in the actual space to refine every element. You'll come away understanding our logic and the data behind it, as well as our strategies for managing costs and timelines.
Approval and build
Once you’re satisfied with your design concept, all you have to do is sign on the dotted line and let us get to work. We’ll handle all the permits and paperwork, assemble our trusted long-term builders and begin the build.

What factors do workplace design consultants consider?
When we approach a workplace design project, we take a holistic view to ensure every aspect of your workspace is optimised. Here are some key factors we consider:
- Company culture: We start by understanding your company's values, goals, and unique culture. This helps us create a space that truly reflects your identity and fosters a sense of belonging among employees.
- Employee needs: We assess what your employees need to perform their best. This includes considering different working styles, preferences for collaborative or quiet spaces, and ensuring accessibility for everyone.
- Workflow: We analyse how work gets done in your office. Understanding the flow of tasks and interactions helps us design spaces that support efficiency and smooth operations.
- Technology integration: The modern workplace experience relies heavily on technology. We make sure your design supports current tech needs and is adaptable for future advancements, from video conferencing setups to wireless connectivity.
- Brand identity: Your workspace should reflect your brand. We incorporate elements like colour schemes, logos, and unique design features that align with your brand's image and message.
- Sustainability: Eco-friendly designs are not just a trend; they are a necessity. We look for ways to reduce your environmental footprint through sustainable materials, energy-efficient lighting, and waste-reduction strategies.
Lighting, acoustics, and ergonomics: A comfortable and productive environment is crucial. We ensure proper lighting to reduce eye strain, acoustic solutions to minimise noise distractions, and ergonomic furniture to support health and well-being.
Can workplace design improve employee productivity?
Absolutely, it can! A well-designed workplace is more than just a pretty space; it can be a game-changer for productivity.
- Efficient layouts: By designing spaces that support the way your team works, we can help reduce time wasted on unnecessary movements and make it easier for employees to access what they need quickly.
- Comfortable furniture: Ergonomic chairs and desks can significantly reduce discomfort and fatigue, allowing employees to focus better and work longer without strain.
- Good lighting: Natural light and well-placed artificial lighting can improve mood, reduce eye strain, and enhance focus. We ensure your space has the right lighting for various tasks.
- Collaborative spaces: Creating areas where employees can easily collaborate fosters better communication and teamwork. These spaces can spark creativity and innovation, driving better outcomes.
- Reduced stress: Thoughtful design can create a calming environment, reducing stress and making the workplace a more enjoyable place to be. Happy employees are more productive!
How do I choose the right workplace design consultant?
Here are a few considerations you should think about while deciding between consultants.
- Experience in your industry: Look for someone who has worked with businesses similar to yours. They’ll better understand your specific needs and challenges.
- A strong portfolio: Reviewing a consultant’s previous work gives you a sense of their style and capabilities. Make sure their design aesthetics align with your vision.
- Good client references: Talk to previous clients to get an idea of their experience. Were they satisfied with the process and the final result? This feedback is invaluable.
- Understanding your vision: The consultant should listen to your ideas and be able to translate them into a functional design. Clear communication is crucial.
- A comprehensive approach: The best consultants consider all aspects of the office design process, from initial planning to final execution. They should offer a well-rounded service that covers all your needs.
- Compatibility and trust: You’ll be working closely with your consultant, so it’s important to feel comfortable with them. Trust and good rapport are essential for a smooth collaboration.
We have an obvious bias, but we’re pretty confident we can meet your needs.
Can workplace design incorporate sustainability?
Sustainable workplace design is something we’re passionate about, and it’s becoming increasingly important for many businesses. Here’s how we can make your workplace greener:
- Eco-friendly materials: We can choose materials that are sustainable, such as recycled or upcycled furniture, low-VOC paints, and renewable resources like bamboo.
- Energy-efficient lighting: LED lighting and smart lighting systems can significantly reduce energy consumption. We also design to maximise natural light, which is both energy-efficient and beneficial for employee well-being.
- Waste reduction strategies: Implementing recycling stations and composting systems and encouraging minimal waste practices can help reduce your environmental footprint.
What trends are currently shaping workplace design?
Workplace design is always evolving, and staying current with trends can help keep your office modern and appealing. Here are some of the latest trends we’re seeing:
- Flexible and adaptable spaces: Workplaces need to be versatile to accommodate changing needs. Modular furniture and easily reconfigured spaces are popular.
- Remote work integration: With the rise of remote work, offices are becoming hubs for collaboration. This includes more meeting rooms, video conferencing technology, and spaces designed for team interaction.
- Biophilic design: Bringing nature indoors with plants, natural materials, and nature-inspired elements can improve well-being and reduce stress. It creates a more inviting and comfortable workspace.
- Technology-driven workspaces: Incorporating the latest tech is crucial. From smart desks to integrated AV systems, tech helps streamline work processes and enhance productivity.
- Focus on health and well-being: Health-centric designs include ergonomic furniture, standing desks, wellness rooms, and spaces for relaxation. These features show a commitment to employee well-being and can lead to a more engaged and productive workforce.
